Problem Resolution Process
Communication is key to the success of any organization. Knowing how to properly communicate issues or concerns is essential to resolving differences.
If you, as a parent, or your athlete, as a member of Nebraska Elite Volleyball, have a concern regarding policies or actions, please follow the steps below in order:
- Athlete to Coach
- The athlete should first speak to or meet with their coach about the concern.
- Parent to Club Director
- If the matter remains unresolved, or if the athlete reasonably believes speaking with the coach will not resolve the issue, the parent should submit the concern in writing to the Club Director.
- The Club Director will review the concern, discuss it with the parent, and then speak with the coach. The Director will then share the outcome with the parent.
- Joint Meeting (if needed)
- If it is determined that a meeting would be beneficial, it will be scheduled and include the player, parents, coach, Club Director, and Assistant Club Director.
- Coach Behavior Concerns
- If the issue involves a coach’s behavior (and not playing time), skip Step 1 and submit a written complaint directly to the Club Director.
- Severe Issues
- If the concern is severe in nature, a direct phone call to the Club Director is appropriate.
- Board of Directors Review
- If the parent and/or athlete are not satisfied with the action taken by the Head Coach and/or Club Director, they may submit a written request for the Board of Directors to review the matter.
- The Board may, at its sole discretion, choose to review or decline to review the issue.
- Note: The Board will not review coaching decisions related to starting lineups, playing time, training regimens, or skill development.
- The Board’s decision—whether to review or to decline review—is final and must be respected and carried out.
